Social Work

Business is not our sole aim. We believe in contributing to the society and to act as a good corporate citizen. Even if we are pa private body we make maximum effort to contribute to the society, nation’s economy and ultimately to the State overall. That is why are involved with Gandhi Ashram more than 90 year old NGO and IV Japan. 

 

We aim to give back to the society that has given us so much. We believe that if everyone does their bit in helping the poor and needy, then surely the world will be a better place. We also want to have a positive impact on the society that we operate.

Nepal Charkha Pracharak Gandhi Tulasi Smarak Mahaguthi 

We are extremely proud to say that our Chairman Mr. Udaya Mohan Shrestha also double hats as a Chairman of Gandhi Ashram.

 

Tulasi Meher Shrestha is the founder of “Nepal Charkha Pracharak Gandhi Tulasi Smarak Mahaguthi:, the first social non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nepal.

 

It is the pioneer social organization in Nepal established to protect and uplift the untouchables, helpless, neglected and distressed people on general and destitute women. The NGO provides different sort of vocational trainings to women including tailoring, sewing etc and the products made by the underprivileged women are then sold in Mahaguthi.

Mahaguthi “Craft with Conscience” is a not for profit, WFTO Guaranteed Fair Trade Organization which produces, markets and exports Nepal’s crafts. Mahaguthi serves both domestic as well as international markets and has two shops based in the Kathmandu Valley. Our organization represents the efforts of more than one thousand individual producers, fifty percent of whom are from remote and mountainous areas. Most of our producers are women who are given the chance to employ traditional skills in their own homes, thus enabling them to generate extra income. Your each purchase from Mahaguthi directly helps the people involved in every step of supply chain as 68% of the sales go back to the artisans of the products.

IV-Japan (Since 1988)

 

Our Vice President Mr. Sahaj Shrestha, serves as an Executive Director of an International NGO named IV-Japan. The INGO was founded by Ms. Sachiko Tominaga. She established this INGO with an aim to uplift the economic living conditions of Asian countries mainly Laos, Thailand and Nepal.

 

IV-Japan carries out different educational projects for Asian children, women, young people so that they can live and sustain an economic prosperous life.
